If I Were Practical…


There might not be cloud castles and starry ships

To enchant the memory, to make curiosity burn.

There may only be the monotonous divide

Of processed thoughts, of congruent blocks.

 

There might not be an ever-waking dream

To cherish hope, to flourish life’s paint brush.

There may only be the faint, pale breath

Of never ending litany, of finite’s dull restraints.
